Install issue

Nov 11, 2014 at 8:35 PM
Tried to install the module on DNN 7.3.2., platform.
The installation runs into problems, (see below) are they already known issues?
Closing the dialogue box, I can see that the App module installed but not the content module.

If it's a known issue, please let me know.
If not, I see if I can find out why this happens.

kind regards,
(Congrats with your MVP status by the way :-)

Hi Tycho

Only can think of one issue that might cause this. Are you using the objectqualifier in your web.config, 2sxc does not support this.

Nov 12, 2014 at 9:22 AM
HI Tycho

EIther it's the objectqualifier - like nokiko wrote...

or you're upgrading for an older version, and the error is ON PURPOSE because you should run the upgrade again - this is necessary because of the rename from "2sexycontent" to "2sxc"

Just finished fresh install without Object qualifier and works like a charm.

Nov 12, 2014 at 1:14 PM
awesome :)
Nov 18, 2014 at 2:27 PM
How can I stop using objectqualifier? How is it done?

@Celiktas: great :)

@Jaromir: This is a setting that is defined in the first installation of DNN. It cannot be changed any more - the default value is great, and "almost" nobody changes it. But some do :( - often because they don't understand the consequences.
Nov 19, 2014 at 12:12 PM
If you understand it, because installation is not possible. It's bad when you can not do anything:-(
Nov 19, 2014 at 1:24 PM
Well Jaromir it's not easy to install, but till you get the right settings :)
Nov 19, 2014 at 1:50 PM
@Jaromir: I'm guessing you followed a blog telling you how to install in Azure - and that blog has an example placing a dnn_ as a prefix. That breaks 2sxc and some other modules.
Nov 19, 2014 at 4:42 PM
Hi Jaromir,
which other modules that breaks 2sxc?
Nov 19, 2014 at 6:17 PM
I installed DNN 7.3.4 and I tried to install 2sic_2SexyContent_06.04.00_Install but failed. I searched and found a solution to and used While the central bank reported an error, but it works Content. For other modules I have not found error:-)
Nov 20, 2014 at 6:36 AM
Hi Jaromir,

That's strange! but the problem is solved :)
Nov 20, 2014 at 7:34 AM
It is not and. I do not update option. Unable to take advantage of the wonderful opportunities that offer the update. Installed a remastered version shows that it could go.
Nov 20, 2014 at 9:43 AM
@Jaromir: I'm sorry about that. The core problem is that DNN has an "old" way to save hosting cost and install multiple DNNs on 1 SQL-DB. This is a very dumb idea and I think nobody does it like that - but it's what causes your problem: this "old" way doesn't work with the standard Entity-Framework (which we use in 2sxc).

I believe this feature will be removed in DNN8, but I don't know if there is a clean way to "migrate" out of this.
Nov 20, 2014 at 1:02 PM
I performed the installation of DNN 7.2.1, a typical set accordingly. I would expect that it will be correct, but how to write, probably not.

No nothing.

Thank you for the explanation.

Hi Jaromir,

You may be right. I'm using DNN 7.3.2 and I have had so far no problem with andre's module.
